PMJJBY is an Insurance Scheme offering life insurance cover for death due to any reason. It is a one-year cover, renewable from year to year. The scheme is offered / administered through LIC and other Life Insurance companies.

All individual account holders in the age group of 18 to 50 years are eligible to join the scheme.

The annual premium of the member is Rs 406/-. The premium is deducted from the account holder's bank account through 'auto debit" facility in one instalment, as per the option given, on or before 31st May of each annual coverage period under the scheme.

The assurance on the life cover of the subscriber terminates on attaining age of 55 years subject to annual renewal up to that date (entry, however, is not possible beyond the age of 50 years).
