FAQs for Multilingual Image-based Virtual Key Board (MIVKB)

To improve the safety and security of your online banking environment, we have introduced the option of Multilingual Image-based Virtual Key Board (MIVKB) for profile password.
  1. What is Multilingual Image-based Virtual Key Board (MIVKB)?

    Multilingual Image-based Virtual Key Board (MIVKB) is a virtual key board with keys having images of objects, numbers and alphabets in multiple languages, as per the selection of the user. Images of objects substitute the set of special characters in a normal key board. MIVKB can be operated with multiple input devices, which may include a touch screen or computer mouse. The MIVKB is an additional precautionary measure against malicious programs such as key loggers.

    MIVKB is an exclusive offer from State Bank.

  2. Why should I use MIVKB?

    The MIVKB is a more secure way of accessing your profile section, as a password entered through usual virtual keyboard can also be entered through physical keyboard, which makes it vulnerable to phishing attacks. The as the images in MIVKB cannot be entered through any keyboard, it is a better safeguard against phishers.

  3. What should be the password attributes if I use MIVKB?

    The profile password should not be the same as your login password. The password length should be minimum 8 characters and maximum 20 characters. MIVKB password should contain at least one digit, one alphabet and two images.

  4. How can I use the MIVKB?

    Use the mouse/ touch screen to enter the letters, numbers and images by clicking on the keys of the MIVKB. For English, Caps lock and for Hindi, Shift button has been provided to cover full range of the language. Since Internet Banking usernames and passwords are case-sensitive, please ensure that you are aware of this "difference" when entering your password.


  5. Is it mandatory to use the MIVKB?

    MIVKB will be made mandatory shortly. Hence it is advisable to use it for your own benefit.


  6. What if I forgot my password entered through MIVKB/ Key Board?

    You can reset the password if you know your hint question and answer. If you do not remember the hint question and answer, then click “Forget Profile Password” link, and a request for reset will sent to your branch. You need to approach your branch with the reference number generated by the system.
